Wig Care Guide

The ELTHIRAL Wig Care Guide

Your ELTHIRAL wig is made with Vietnamese human hair and should be cared for with the same intention you would give your own hair.

Proper care helps preserve softness, movement, manageability and the overall appearance of the hair over time.

Because human hair is a natural fibre, its longevity will depend on how often the wig is worn, how it is styled, the products used on it and how consistently it is maintained.

About Our Hair

ELTHIRAL wigs are crafted using Vietnamese human hair selected for its smooth feel, natural movement and styling versatility.

Our Virgin collection offers an easy, polished everyday finish, while our Raw collection is made with raw natural straight Vietnamese hair for a more premium feel, natural body and greater styling flexibility.

As with all human hair, the condition of the hair will change over time depending on wear and care.

Using suitable products and following a gentle maintenance routine will help keep your unit looking and feeling its best for longer.

Washing Your Wig

Wash your wig when you notice product buildup, excess oil, reduced movement or when the hair simply feels like it needs refreshing.

Before washing, gently detangle the hair from the ends upward.

Use lukewarm water and keep the hair flowing in its natural direction.

Apply a small amount of the ELTHIRAL Nourish & Restore Shampoo or a shampoo suitable for human hair.

Gently work the shampoo through the hair without rubbing, scrubbing or bunching the strands together.

Rinse thoroughly.

Avoid excessive manipulation of the lace and knots while washing.

Conditioning

After cleansing, apply the ELTHIRAL Moisture Veil Conditioner through the mid-lengths and ends.

Gently distribute the product through the hair and detangle where necessary.

Avoid heavily applying conditioner directly to the lace, knots or base of the wig.

Leave the conditioner on for a few minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

For hair that needs additional conditioning, the ELTHIRAL Restorative Repair Hair Treatment can be applied through the lengths and ends.

Use the Right Products

The products you use on your wig can directly affect how the hair feels and performs over time.

Choose products formulated for human hair and avoid excessive use of heavy oils, waxes, gels and products that create buildup.

The ELTHIRAL Haircare System was designed to support cleansing, conditioning, softness and manageability and can be used as part of your wig-care routine.

A little product goes a long way.

Overloading the hair can leave it feeling heavy, dull or difficult to style.

Heat Styling

ELTHIRAL wigs can be heat styled, but heat should always be used intentionally.

Before applying heat:

- Make sure the hair is completely dry.
- Apply a suitable heat protectant.
- Use the lowest effective temperature.
- Avoid repeatedly passing heat over the same section.
- Limit unnecessary heat styling where possible.

Excessive or very high heat can gradually affect the softness, condition and longevity of human hair.

Detangling

Always detangle gently.

Begin at the ends and gradually work upward toward the roots.

Hold the hair securely while brushing to avoid unnecessary pulling on the lace or knots.

Use a wide-tooth comb or a suitable wig brush and avoid aggressive brushing, particularly when the hair is wet.

Drying

After washing, gently press excess water from the hair.

Do not twist or wring the wig.

Allow the unit to air-dry whenever possible and place it on a suitable wig stand to help maintain its shape.

Avoid styling the hair until it is fully dry.

Sleeping in Your Wig

Where possible, we recommend removing your wig before sleeping.

If you do sleep in your unit, loosely secure the hair and use a satin or silk bonnet, scarf or pillowcase to help minimise friction.

Storing Your Wig

Store your wig clean, dry and detangled.

A wig stand or mannequin head can help maintain the shape of the unit between wears.

Keep the hair away from excessive heat, moisture and direct sunlight when storing it for longer periods.

Caring for Your Lace

The lace is delicate and should always be handled gently.

Avoid pulling aggressively when removing adhesive or styling the hairline.

Use appropriate lace-removal products where necessary and allow adhesive to loosen before lifting the unit.

Repeated tension, rough handling and excessive product buildup can shorten the lifespan of the lace.

How Long Will My Wig Last?

There is no fixed lifespan for a human hair wig.

Longevity depends on factors including:

- Frequency of wear
- Washing and conditioning routine
- Heat styling
- Product use
- Lace maintenance
- Storage
- General handling

A unit worn occasionally and carefully maintained may naturally last longer than one worn and styled every day.

Consistent care makes a difference.

The ELTHIRAL Approach

Your wig is an investment in having more options with your hair.

Care for it gently.

Use products suited to human hair.

Protect it from unnecessary heat and buildup.

Give it time to rest between wears.

The better you care for your ELTHIRAL unit, the better chance it has of maintaining its softness, movement and polished finish over time.

The hair you choose to wear and the hair that's always yours.
